New clause from CEFOR for the insurance of floating docks

Recently a new clause has been entered from CEFOR, The Nordic Association of Marine Insurers, that floating docks must undergo a survey from either a class society or an independent, approved surveyor. The survey shall certify various points related to the safe operation of the dock and for vessels in the dock.

This is now mandatory for owners to be able to obtain an insurance for floating docks. Accordingly the clause may have an effect not only for the floating dock, but for the ability to enter vessels into floating docks. Owners of floating docks and vessel owners both need to be aware of this clause in order to be covered by marine insurance.

Tveten Marin would like to inform that the company presently has certified 4 floating docks within the new CEFOR clause.
